Privacy policy

Summary

Gloobli is a color game. You can play solo forever without an account, and we do not need to know who you are to run the game. Your sets, sprint scores, streaks and settings are stored on your device. If you choose to play with friends, sign in with Apple, subscribe, or if you see ads, some data is processed as described below. We never sell personal data and we never claim to measure intelligence, health or ability.

Our website and launch list

If you join the launch list on gloobli.com we store your email address, the date you signed up, which sign-up box you used and the country your connection came from (worked out by our host from your IP address, which we do not keep). We use it only to email you about Gloobli: updates while we build it and a note on launch day. We never sell or share the list. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and you can ask us to delete your address at any time by writing to support@gloobli.com.

The list is stored with Cloudflare, which hosts the site. If we use an email service to send updates, it receives your address only to deliver those emails. The website sets no cookies and uses no analytics or ad trackers. Like any website host, Cloudflare processes technical data such as your IP address to deliver pages and protect the site from abuse.

What stays on your device

Game progress (current set, difficulty band, colorways collected and your chosen logo colorway), records (sprint scores, streak, sets played, race and clues results) and your settings (light mode, sound, haptics, easier contrast, reduce motion, tile shape, reminder time). These are saved on your phone. If you enable iCloud sync for the app, Apple stores an encrypted copy in your iCloud account so records follow you to a new phone; we cannot read it.

Deleting the app deletes this data. Settings › Delete local data clears it in place.

Accounts

Solo play never asks for an account. Playing with friends (Race, Clues, Party) requires signing in with Apple so a challenge can be attributed to you. We receive the identifier Apple issues for this app and, if you allow it, a display name. Hide My Email works. We do not receive your Apple ID password.

You can delete your account at any time in Settings › Delete account. Deletion removes your account record and any pending challenges within 30 days. Records on your phone are kept unless you also clear local data.

Playing with friends

When you send a challenge or clue, the other player receives the game data needed to play it: a seed for the board sequence, your score once both of you have finished, and the clue text you typed. Clue text is filtered for color words and offensive language on your device and again on our servers before it is shown to others. Players can report a clue; reported clues are reviewed by a person and the sender may be blocked from further play.

Party rooms are private and identified by a room code that expires when the room closes. The shared display page shows only public game information. We keep room activity logs for up to 30 days to investigate abuse reports.

Subscription

The ad-free subscription is sold through Apple. Apple handles payment, renewal, cancellation and refunds under its own terms and privacy policy. We receive a transaction identifier and subscription status so the app can remove ads and unlock hosting; we never see your payment details. Manage or cancel any time in iPhone Settings › Apple ID › Subscriptions. Some colorways are one-off purchases through Apple; the same applies, and we only receive which colorways you own.

Advertising

Free players see banner ads outside of active gameplay and an ad between sets. Ads are provided by a third-party network and are served as non-personalised ads: the network receives the technical information needed to deliver an ad (device type, OS version, approximate region from IP address, an ad-delivery identifier) and does not build an interest profile from your play. Subscribers see no ads and no ad requests are made. Nobody sees ads inside a Party room.

Our website shows no ads. Before the app is released we will name its ad partner here, link to that partner’s privacy policy and list the data it receives.

Analytics and crash reports

We collect anonymous usage events (for example: a set was completed, a sprint was started, a purchase succeeded) and crash reports so we can fix problems and see which parts of the game people use. These are keyed to a random install identifier that is not linked to your Apple account and can be reset by reinstalling the app. No game result is ever interpreted as a measure of your vision, cognition or health.

Notifications

The daily reminder is a local notification scheduled on your phone. Nothing is sent to us and we do not send push notifications.

Children

Gloobli is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. Friends features require an Apple account.

Your rights

You can access, export or delete the data we hold about you by contacting us at support@gloobli.com. Residents of the EU/EEA, UK, California and other jurisdictions with privacy laws have additional rights under those laws, including the right to object to processing and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising.

Changes

We will post any changes here and update the effective date. Material changes are also announced in the app.
